Birth Doula Support

Birth Doula Services in Davis & Salt Lake County

Gentle, grounded support for one of life’s biggest transitions.

I offer full birth doula support — steady emotional, educational, practical, and physical presence through pregnancy, labor, and birth — carried by years of CranioSacral Therapy and perinatal bodywork. You receive everything you would expect from a dedicated birth doula, with the added perspective of gentle, body-aware care.

Now accepting inquiries for due dates beginning November 2026.

Because I welcome one birth client each month, your care stays focused and unhurried — I am fully available to you as your due date approaches.

A steady, client-led approach

Birth support is tailored to you — to you, your baby, your partner, and the support people you choose to have with you. There is no single correct way to give birth, and you remain at the center of every choice. As your birth unfolds, my support adapts with it.

My role is to help create steadiness, support, clear communication, and a felt sense of safety, so you can stay connected to yourself and to your baby. You and your baby will do this together. You deserve support, and you do not have to carry this alone.

A quiet, connected moment of rest and reassurance during labor

What makes this support different

You receive the emotional, educational, practical, physical, and partner support you would expect from a birth doula — with the added perspective of years of CranioSacral Therapy and perinatal bodywork. That hands-on background informs how I understand the body, the nervous system, and the transitions of pregnancy and birth.

CST-informed support may be offered during labor and delivery when appropriate and with consent. Gentle, hands-on comfort support may be offered, and it is always optional — it responds to you and to your birth situation, and care remains fully client-led throughout.

Gentle, consent-based hands-on comfort support during labor

What support can look like during labor

Every labor is different, so this is never a fixed script. It is a steady, responsive presence that meets you where you are:

  • A calm, continuous presence from early labor through birth
  • Emotional reassurance when things feel intense or uncertain
  • Physical comfort support — counterpressure, touch, breath, and steadiness
  • Movement, positioning, and rest suggestions as your body asks for them
  • Help staying connected to your preferences and choices
  • Support communicating your preferences to your care team
  • Helping your partner participate confidently and stay close
  • Adapting with you as birth unfolds, moment to moment
  • CST-informed comfort support when appropriate and with your consent

Support for your partner, too

A doula does not replace your partner. I support your partner as well, so they can stay present and connected to you without feeling responsible for remembering or managing everything. You get to be together, supported.

Doula support and medical care

I do not replace your OB, midwife, nurse, or medical care team. A doula supports communication — not medical decisions. Here is what that looks like:

I provide

  • Non-medical emotional and physical support
  • Education and help understanding your options
  • Comfort measures during pregnancy and labor
  • Steadiness and reassurance for you and your partner
  • Help communicating your preferences to your care team

I do not provide

  • Medical advice, diagnosis, or clinical recommendations
  • Lactation care
  • Birth photography
  • Placenta encapsulation
  • Overnight care
  • A replacement for guidance from your medical providers

Medical decisions and clinical care remain with you and your qualified medical providers.

Training and background

Janelle completed birth doula training with Carlie Diderickson of Simply Sacred Births and brings her extensive CranioSacral Therapy background into birth support in a grounded, client-led way.

As a Diplomate Certified CranioSacral Therapist and Approved Upledger Presenter, she brings years of CranioSacral Therapy and perinatal bodywork experience into her doula work. Her CranioSacral Therapy education includes work related to pregnancy, labor and delivery, and infants.
